Support

Something not working, or a question the app does not answer? Email support@sessions.tennis and a person will read it. Tell us the email address on your account and what you were trying to do — that is usually enough to find the problem without a back-and-forth.

Common things

I can't sign in

Use forgot password to set a new one. If you originally joined with Google or Apple, use that button rather than a password — the account is the same either way, matched on your email address.

I never got the verification email

Check spam for a message from sessions.tennis. Your address has to be verified before you can post or join a game — that is what stops anyone signing up as someone else. If it still has not arrived, email us and we will verify you by hand.

Connecting my Google Calendar fails

Calendar sync is optional; everything else works without it. We read only your busy times — never the titles or details of your events — and use them to suggest times when you and another player are both free.

While this feature is still in review with Google, it works only for addresses on our tester list. If you see “this app has not completed the Google verification process”, that is what has happened — email us and we will add you or tell you when it opens up.

If a calendar you connected earlier stops updating, your profile will show it and offer a reconnect. Google expires that permission periodically, and reconnecting is the fix.

My league record isn't showing, or isn't mine

A ladder gives a separate identity to each singles entrant and to each doubles pairing, so claiming your singles name does not pick up the doubles team you play on — claim both. If a match is attached to the wrong person, tell us which match and we will correct it.

A doubles player only shows a surname

That is how the league publishes doubles teams: one entry per pair, surnames only. If you know someone’s first name you can add it from the league pages, and it then helps everyone who searches for them afterwards.

Someone is bothering me

Block them. Blocking works in both directions and says nothing to them: neither of you can message the other or see the other in feeds, search or mentions, and no wording anywhere reveals who blocked whom.

You can also report a player or a message, which sends it to us with the context attached. If you feel unsafe, deal with that first — contact local emergency services — and then tell us.

Too many emails or notifications

Every category can be set to off, in-app only, a daily digest, or an email per event, from your settings. Nothing about your account requires you to keep any of them on.

I want my account deleted

Settings has a “Close your account” section. It shows exactly what will be deleted — including any games you are hosting, which are cancelled for the players who joined them — and asks you to type your email address to confirm. It is immediate and cannot be undone.

If you cannot sign in to reach it, email us from the address on the account and we will do it for you.

I got an invite text and did not sign up for anything

Sessions does not send marketing texts. A member you have played can send you a one-time invite using a number they entered themselves — see the SMS program page. Reply STOP to that message and we will not text you again.

Playing safely

Sessions introduces people who then meet in person. We do not vet or background-check anyone, and a rating on a profile is what that player told us or what a league published. Play somewhere public the first time, tell someone where you are going, and stop if something feels wrong. The exact location of a game is only shared once the host accepts you.
